Folkert de Jong
Folkert de Jong (Egmond, 1972) is known for his life-sized sculpturalgroups made from Styrofoam and polyurethane foam, materials commonly used for insulation in construction, architecture and the set design in the Hollywood film industry. With these unconventional, petrochemical materials, De Jong creates striking and complex tableaux of grotesque worlds, addressing themes of power, violence, disaster and other unsettling aspects of the human condition. Fascinated by the darker corners of the human psyche, the artist pulls the viewer into a realm where the bizarre and the fragile converge. His work often evokes art-historical associations alongside contemporary political issues and current affairs, infused with a sense of post-apocalyptic foresight.

Donorbrain
Jacco de Jager / Donorbrain (Den Helder, 1982) creates drawings in which absurdity, humor and melancholy collide. His images emerge intuitively, from an underlying sense of discomfort and wonder. At times his work is cynical and crude, at others fragile and tender, often both at once. Jacco lives and works in Utrecht and previously made music with the duo Glitterkots en de Nasmaak.
